34 players called: World Cup and Asian Cup Qualifiers

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) is starting the training of National Football team from August 17.

The cabinet meeting held on Monday has given permission to conduct training and preliminary games of international sports next month. Finance Minister Yubaraj Khatiwada informed at a press conference that preparations for the international competition will start from Bhadra 1.

Preliminary squad for the Camp:

GKs: Bikesh Kuthu, Bishal Shrestha, Alan Neupane, Kiran Chemjong

DFs: Ranjit Dhimal, Suman Aryal, Amit Tamang, Saroj Dahal, Ajit Bhandari, Tshiring Gurung, Bikash Khawas, Ananta Tamang, Devendra Tamang and Dilen Loktan.

MFs: Bishal Rai ‘B’, Sesehang Aangdembe, Tej Tamang, Bikram Lama, Subash Gurung, Mikchen Tamang, Pujan Uparkoti, Erik Bista, Sujal Shrestha, Ravi Paswan, Sunil Bal, Anjan Bista and Rohit Chand.

FWs: Abishek Rijal, George Prince Karki, Darshan Gurung, Bharat Khawas, Nawayug Shrestha, Aashish Lama and Bimal Rana.

According to ANFA, an online meeting has been done between the players, coaches and concerned people. They had discussed preparations and other issues and during the discussion, the players suggested starting preparations for the World Cup selection as soon as possible. Similarly, ANFA has already discussed with the Health Committee on how to move the training process forward.

The Gorkhalis who are in Group B under the qualifiers, have yet to play their last three matches where Nepal will play remaining three games at its home ground, Dasharath Stadium. In the first five games, Nepal has added 3 points with 1 win and 4 losses. Team Nepal ranks fourth in the group of five nations.
