A Div’ League is Back : Fans are not Back : Very Small Number of Audience in The Dasarath Stadium

It had been 5 years since the Martyrs’ Memorial A Division League has not been played in DashrathStadium in Kathmandu.  It took time to rebuild the damaged stadium and there was no football game in the stadium. Although the league started last year, the matches were played in Anfa complex and Halchowk stadium.

Dashrath Stadium was prepared for the 13th South Asian Games(SAG), held from December 1 to 10. Men’s football games were held. The A Division League game, which just started after the South Asian Games, has returned to football at the Dashrath Stadium.

First game in the Dasarath Stadium which was Sankata vs Chyasal, the stadium on Monday, there were hardly any audience at the stadium. Former national team forward Santosh Shahukhala said that the standard of Nepali football has gone further down after he scored a brace to help Chyasal Football Club stun last season’s runner-up Sankata Club 2-0.
