Adelaide United earned a 2-2 draw with a 10-man Melbourne City

When they gave up their 2-0 lead and a regular Adelaide United team led 2-2 innings, Melbourne City won the opportunity to consolidate second place on the A-League ladder.

It was held at the ANZ Stadium on Tuesday night, but it may not be enough for the brave Red Army to get a seat in the A-League final. The goals from Norwegian forwards Kristian Opseth and Ben Halloran ensure the Reds share point. Uruguayan midfielder Adrian Luna and FA forward Jamie Maclaren led City 2-0 in the half. The draw placed sixth-ranked Adelaide and the Western Union team difference by three points.

Halloran’s stoppage time equalizer was part of the dramatic completion, but the Reds failed to find a winner.
