Are we ready to host Australia, Jordan and Taipei? World Cup Q. Nepal

Nepal has 3 matches remaining in 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification where they have to face strong Australia, Chinese Taipei and Jordan.

Nepal who are in Group be of the Qualifiers have 3 points with a win over Chinese Taipei. Asia’s power house are in the first position with 12 points.

Kuwait and Jordan have 10 points each but due to better goal difference, Kuwait are in the second position. Chinese Taipei are in the bottom of the table and are already  eliminated from the World Cup Qualifiers Race.

Dasarath Stadium 2020, Tripureshwor, Kathmandu

All the remaining 3 matches of the Qualifiers will be played in Dasarath Stadium. But due to the increasing number of corona patients, the FIFA and AFC will finalise the matches only after seeing the situation of the home country.

Nepal had lost to Kuwait 7-0, 5-0 with Australia and 3-0 against Jordan. Nepal only win came against Chinese Taipei 2-0 in their second match of the campaign.

Note: A total of 40 teams were drawn into eight groups of five to play home-and-away round-robin matches. They included the 34 teams (teams ranked 1–34 in the AFC entrant list.

Who Can Qualify to Next Round?

  1. The four best runners-up across all groups will advance to the World Cup qualifying third round and Asian Cup. The remaining four runners-up will advance to the Asian Cup qualifying third round
  2.  The four best fourth-placed teams across all groups will advance to the Asian Cup qualifying third round. The remaining four fourth-placed teams will advance to the Asian Cup qualifying play-off round.
