Bayern Munich vs Chelsea: Champions League 2019-20: Squad Changes

Bayern Munchen make changes in the squad ahead of facing Chelsea in the second leg of the last 16 of the Champions League on August 9.

In the first leg held last February, Bayern were 3-0 up at Stamford Bridge. Di Roten will certainly find the Blues squad that is determined to win and catch up with them, in order to advance to the next phase.

According to the official UEFA website, ahead of the match against Chelsea Bayern have added a number of player names to their squad this week.

They put the names of young players Jamal Musiala, Malik Tillman and Bright Arrey-Mbi in the list of the squad. They will finish the rest of this prestigious soccer competition. But Oliver Batista Meier, Joshua Zirkzee, Sarpreet Singh and Lasse Mai have been dropped from the main squad list with a total of 25 players.

Bayern make changes, not so with Chelsea. Lampard’s squad reportedly did not make any changes to Uefa squad who will compete at the Allianz Arena.

But they will compete without Christian Pulisic, Cesar Azpilicueta and Pedro Rodriguez. They all were injured in the FA Cup final match against Arsenal last weekend.

Apart from that, the Blues also had to compete against Bayern Munich without Marcos Alonso having to go through a suspension due to the red card he received in the first leg.

Bayern Munich have a ‘B’ list for the match, where Hansi Flick’s team can enter Zirkzee. 

This list is technically reserved for players who were born on January 1, 1998. And have fulfilled the conditions of playing for two years without interruption. Since the player’s 15th birthday. And, Zirkzee was the one who fulfilled these requirements.
