After testing 33 players for COVID 19, one of the players was tested COVID 19 positive and is advised to stay at home alone.
The infected player was swabbed last Tuesday. The result on Thursday was confirmed as positive, ANFA immediately issued a notice stating that the players will be retested. The report of the second test conducted on Thursday was also positive.
According to ANFA sources, he will be tested at a private hospital for the third time. The name of the player who tested positive of Corona has been kept secret.
ANFA had planned to train for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers from next month. But FIFA postponed this year’s selection to next year due to increasing cases of COVID 19. ANFA had postponed the training without starting it. Due to the postpone of the preparation, players from outside Kathmandu Valley have returned hometown after the training was postponed.
Nepal who are in the Group B of Qualifiers have 3 points in the table with a win against Chinese Taipei. Group B have Australia, Jordan, Kuwait, Chinese Taipei and Nepal. The powerhouse of Asia, Australia are at the top of the table with 12 points. Gorkhali lost the match against Kuwait 7-0 in the first leg and 1-0 in the second leg. Nepal also lost the match against Australia 5-0 and Jordan 3-0.
Nepal’s remaining three matches will be in Dasarath Stadium, Kathmandu.
