The Premier League is investigating Manchester City’s financial accounts, which could result in significant penalties for the club. This could also have an impact on one of their key players, Erling Haaland. Haaland joined Manchester City last summer from Borussia Dortmund for 60 million euros, but the investigation puts his future with the club in question.
Haaland chose to play for Manchester City because he wanted to be coached by Pep Guardiola and play on a team that would help him win titles and personal awards like the Ballon d’Or. However, with the ongoing investigation, it’s unclear if these goals will still be possible for him at Manchester City.
Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, has recently spoken to the AS newspaper and revealed that Haaland has a release clause in his contract with Manchester City. This clause allows Haaland to leave the club if he is not happy for any reason.
Pimenta believes in giving players freedom and ensuring that they have the option to leave if they are not satisfied with their situation. The agent’s priority is to give the player “the key to the door,” so that they have the freedom to leave if they want to. According to Pimenta, a player should not be restricted in their ability to make decisions about their own career.
