Lionel Messi LaLiga’s Top Scorer 2019-20

FC Barcelona may have lost their “LaLiga TITLE” to rivals Real Madrid in 2019/20, but Lionel Messi still reigns supreme as the division’s leading scorer.

Messi added two goals as Barcelona celebrated five goals without reply to Alaves at the Estadio Jose Mendirorroza on (7/19/2020). Messi scored in each half and also provided an assist.

Barcelona legend managed to solidify his position at the top of the list with 25 goals in 33 appearances, He was four goals ahead of Benzema in second place with 21 goals.

In third place on Top Scorer’s list is Villarreal’s striker Gerard Moreno who made 18 goals, followed by Luis Suarez with 16 goals.

With seventh Pichichithis Trophy this season, Messi has also set a new record in the arena of Spanish football as the player with the most top scorer titles, which is seven times, past the Telmo Zarra record.

Lionel Messi wins seventh Pichichi Trophy as LaLiga’s top scorer and sets new assist record

Among Pichichi’s seven titles, this season is the lowest with 25 goals. Whereas last season, Messi was able to make 36 goals, then 34 goals, and 37 goals. His best season is when he made 50 goals in 2011/2012.

Since making a minimum of 20 goals per season, this is one of the worst seasons in the league after only making 23 goals in 2008/2009 and 26 goals in 2015/2016. It is true that Lionel Messi did not appear sharply this season because he only made 30 goals and 26 assists from 42 appearances for Barcelona.
