
Messi, Mbappe, and Benzema battle for FIFA Best Player award
Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé are both nominated for the 2022 FIFA Best Men’s Player award. The winner of the award, which will be announced on February 27 in Paris, will be selected from a list of three players, which also includes Karim Benzema.
Messi is considered the favorite to win the award, as he has won it six times before, while Mbappé is seeking his first win.
In the Best Women’s Player award, Beth Mead of England, Alex Morgan of the US, and Spain’s Alexia Putellas are shortlisted. Putellas won the award in 2021.

The finalists were chosen by a group of people from around the world, made up of coaches and captains of both women’s and men’s national teams, journalists who specialize in soccer, and fans who are registered on FIFA’s website.
