Nepal National Team Player Quarantine ahead of World Cup qualifiers

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has started preparations for the Nepali national team to play in the World Cup qualifiers. For this, the participating players will be kept in quarantine. According to ANFA General Secretary Indraman Tuladhar, the team’s training will start next month and the players should pass the mandatory quarantine period before that.

PCR testing of participants in the training will also be done. ANFA will use its own seven-story building for quarantine. ANFA has also started preparations for its World Cup qualifiers after a cabinet meeting gave permission to hold international competitions.

Nepal is in the fourth position on group B with three points. The remaining matches of Nepal’s games are against Chinese Taipei, Australia and Jordan. 34 players have been called at the beginning of the selection. Nepali team coach Johan Kalin is in Sweden and he will start preparations for his return.

DFs:Ranjit Dhimal, Suman Aryal, Amit Tamang, Saroj Dahal, Ajit Bhandari, Tshiring Gurung, Bikash Khawas, Ananta Tamang, Devendra Tamang and Dilen Loktan.

MFs:Bishal Rai ‘B’, Sesehang Aangdembe, Tej Tamang, Bikram Lama, Subash Gurung, Mikchen Tamang, Pujan Uparkoti, Erik Bista, Sujal Shrestha, Ravi Paswan, Sunil Bal, Anjan Bista and Rohit Chand.

FWs:Abishek Rijal, George Prince Karki, Darshan Gurung, Bharat Khawas, Nawayug Shrestha, Aashish Lama and Bimal Rana.

The Gorkhalis who are in Group B under the qualifiers, have yet to play their last three matches where Nepal will play remaining three games at its home ground, Dasharath Stadium. In the first five games, Nepal has added 3 points with 1 win and 4 losses. Team Nepal ranks fourth in the group of five nations.
