Nepal National Team to Start Training from Bhadra 1

The training of the Nepal National Team, which has been closed for a long time due to the corona virus, will resume from Bhadra 1.

The cabinet meeting held on Monday has given permission to conduct training and preliminary games of international sports next month. Finance Minister Yubaraj Khatiwada informed at a press conference that preparations for the international competition will start from Bhadra 1.

Manager of the national team Madhusudan Upadhyaya, “PCR test of the players and other precautions will be taken before the training of the national team”.

According to ANFA, an online meeting has been done between the players, coaches and concerned people. They had discussed preparations and other issues. During the discussion, the players suggested starting preparations for the World Cup selection as soon as possible. Similarly, ANFA has already discussed with the Health Committee on how to move the training process forward.

The Gorkhalis who are in Group B under the qualifiers, have yet to play their last three matches. Nepal will play remaining three games at its home ground, Dasharath Stadium. In the first five games, Nepal has added 3 points with 1 win and 4 losses. Team Nepal ranks fourth in the group of five nations.

Nepal last played a match against Kuwait at Changlimithang ground in Bhutan when the home ground was not ready. Nepal had lost the match 1-0. Out of the four away matches played earlier, Nepal had won 2-0 at Chinese Taipei. Anjan Bista scored both the goals in the victory.

Nepal had lost the first match 7-0 at Kuwait. After winning the second match, the Nepali team reached Australia and lost 5-0. In the fourth match, Nepal lost 3-0 at Jordan. Now, Nepal will play against Chinese Taipei, Australia and Jordan at home.
