Will Rohit Chand be available for Nepal vs Bangladesh 2 friendlies?

Nepal national team player Rohit Chand is in Jakarta for Liga 1 which was postponed for second time few days back. According to reports, it is belived to start from next month and Rohit is busy training with the Persija team.

28-year-old Chand has become Nepal’s most important player since his debut in 2009. Nepal is playing 2 friendly matches against Bangladesh on Nov 13th and 17th as preparation for FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, Qatar 2022, and AFC Asian Cup 2023 China Qualifiers for both the nations.

Nepal who are in Group B of qualifiers have only 1 win and have lost the remaining four. Rohit and the team were only able to win against Chinese Taipei with a score of 2-0. Nepal national team lost to Kuwait (leg1-0-7 and leg2 0-1), Australia (0-5), Jordan (0-3).

Will Rohit Chand play Nepal vs Bangladesh?

Nepal will face Bangladesh next month. This will be their first match of 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Nepal nicknamed as Gorkhali last met Bangladesh at Bangabandhu National Stadium, Dhaka in 2018. Nepal defeated the home side Bangladesh team with a scoreline of 2-0. Persija Jakarta’s mid-fielder Rohit Chand was included in that win which was SAFF Championship 2018.

For these 2 friendlies, it is quite hard for Rohit Chand to join the National Team. Rohit recently joined the capital’s club Persija after 6 months of break-in football. As Liga 1 is starting from next month in Indonesia, club Persija may not let Rohit join the national team for FIFA friendlies. Moreover, due to increasing numbers of covid19 cases in South Asia, it is more difficult for Rohit Chand to leave Indonesia and join the Nepal national team for two international friendly which will be played in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
