Haaland hits his 50th goal of the season
In a remarkable achievement, Erling Haaland, the striker for Manchester City, has reached a significant milestone by scoring his 50th goal of the season. With a penalty goal against Fulham just two minutes into the game, Haaland became the first player in Premier League history to score 50 goals in all competitions in a single season since 1931 (92 years ago).
Haaland accomplished this feat in just 44 games, with 34 goals in the Premier League, 12 goals in the Champions League, three goals in the FA Cup, and one goal in the Carabao Cup.
At the age of 22, Haaland has already become Manchester City’s highest-scoring player in a single season, surpassing Tommy Johnson’s tally of 38 goals, which had remained untouched since 1929. While Johnson’s goals came solely in the league, Haaland has the potential to exceed that total and set another club record for league goals.
Aside from these achievements, the Norwegian forward has also made history by becoming the first player to score in each of his first four Premier League away games. Moreover, he became the first player to score hat-tricks in three consecutive home matches.
We extend our congratulations to Erling Haaland for reaching yet another astonishing milestone in his career!
