The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) has announced that the SAFF Championship 2023 will feature eight teams, including Lebanon and Kuwait as the invited teams. The tournament will be held in Bangalore, India, from June 21 to July 4.

Unfortunately, Sri Lanka will not be participating in the championship due to a FIFA ban. Nonetheless, the remaining six SAFF nations, including India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Maldives, and Pakistan, will compete to be crowned the champions of South Asian football.

India is the most successful team in the history of the tournament, having won the title eight times. Similarly, Maldives have won two tiles in the championship. Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka have each won the title once.
