India’s national women’s football team has been drawn into Group G of the AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifiers First Round. The group includes Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic. Similarly, Nepal is in Group C with Vietnam, Palestine, and Afghanistan.
Nepal’s Head Coach Anant Thapa is grateful for the opportunity to play two international friendlies against India and his team is preparing well for the matches, which will be held in Chennai.
Friendlies will give both teams a chance to test their skills against a worthy opponent. Nepal will be looking to build on their previous victory over India in the SAFF semi-final match, while India will be looking to revenge that defeat.
The organizers deserve thanks for arranging the two matches between India and Nepal, said Nepal’s Head Coach Ananta Thapa. Further, “My team is well-prepared for the upcoming games.” Thapa also acknowledged India’s strength as a team and wished them luck.
India’s Head Coach Thomas Dennerby welcomed the opportunity for his team to play against Nepal. “Nepal are a good side, of course, and it will be a good opportunity for our girls to come back to the pace of International football.”
