Women’s Hero Gold Cup 2019: Nepal VS Iran

Nepal did their chances of reaching the Hero Gold Cup 2019 final a huge favor as they ran out comfortable 3-0 winners against Iran at Kalinga Stadium. Nepal thrashed Iran riding on a brace from Sabitra Bhandari, while Myanmar beat hosts India 2-0. Unbeaten Myanmar made it to the final with maximum nine points from three matches, while Nepal finished second with six points. Anita Basnet managed to unleash a thunderbolt, the volley rifling in the net from an acute angle in the 41st minute.
Sabitra Bhandari extended the tally in the 59th minute beating the offside trap before dodging the goalkeeper to tap in an empty net. Sabitra got her second of the game late on as Iran tried to push bodies forward. She picked the ball in the opposition half and found the back of nets with a long-range shot.

Final Score: Nepal 3-0 Iran.
