Rohit Chand “My performance continued to improve after joining Persija”

Rohit Chand became the youngest Nepalese player in the country’s history when he debut in the national team at the age of 16 years and 22 days (finally broken in 2012). The record was broken by striker Bimal Garti Magar.

At young age, several European clubs were interested in asking his hand. He also gave trail cum training with Danish Club FCV Vikings in 2013. Chand joined Indonesian club PSPS Pekanbaru in 2012 before joining Persija Jakarta following year.

Nepalese midfielder Rohit Chand said that Persija Jakarta has played an important role in his career, so he still has the confidence to strengthen his national team. “I thank Persija’s management for their trust in me,” said Rohit. 

Versatile Chand who can play as defender and defensive midfielder has become an important player in the team since his debut in 2009. During his 11 years with the national team, Chand has participated in 63 matches. He is the second most capped player only behind goalkeeper and captain Kiran Chemjong.

“I think my skills have improved and my game has reached a higher level. I thank the club management (Pesija Jakarta) for their trust in me,” said Rohit Chand as quoted by FIFA official website.
