Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first goal for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League match against Al Fateh by successfully converting a late penalty kick. The decisive moment came in the second half during stoppage time at Prince Abdullah bin Jalawi Sports City Stadium.
Ronaldo’s late penalty helped Al Nassr secure a 2-2 draw after trailing twice in the game. In the 12th minute, former Barcelona player Cristian Tello put Al Fateh ahead with a stunning volley from outside the box. Ronaldo nearly equalized in the first half with a clinical finish to beat the keeper in a one-on-one situation. But Ronaldo was flagged for offside, a decision that was confirmed by a VAR review.
Talisca equalized for Al Nassr in 42 minutes, scoring his 13th goal in the Saudi Pro League this season. Before halftime, Ronaldo missed a crucial opportunity when his left-footed shot hit the crossbar.
Al Fateh regained the lead just before the hour-mark with another stunning strike, this time from Sofiane Bendebka’s side-footed volley.
Despite this, Al Nassr seemed headed towards consecutive losses for the first time since October 2021. However, Ronaldo’s penalty, earned after a foul by Nooh Al-Mousa, rescued the team and secured the draw.
The excitement continued as Talisca was red-carded for a rough foul in the 5th minute of added time. The draw was enough for Al Nassr to move to the top of the Saudi Pro League table, based on goal difference.
